Today will be about second chances. We all need them. I saw a guy’s name on the board today and immediately thought, no way am I betting him. Then I was like, why? Because he burned me against a team that never strikes out? That feels like a pretty dumb reason to put this guy on the no-bet list. I feel like betting this MLB player prop not only makes me a bigger man, but also will put cash in my pocket. That’s called a win/win people.
On top of this article, you should definitely check out our experts’ picks on all of the MLB action today. It’s just a smart thing to do. Also, bets can be added to the card, so why not follow me on Twitter in case we get some last-second action? Once lineups are announced for some of these games, there is a chance for opportunity to knock.
Chris Ellis over 3.5 strikeouts (+100)
Line available at FanDuel at time of publishing.
Somehow FanDuel is the best option today. Usually you have to add a strikeout to whatever total everyone else is giving but it’s for +140 or higher. I like that they want to play nice today in the MLB player prop market. DraftKings is at 3.5 -105 so this is also playable there. Only hearing crickets at BetMGM on this one.
Ellis is set up to be very sneaking today. First of all, he was allowed to throw 69 pitches to the Toronto Blue Jays. That’s the most he’s thrown in any of his 3 starts. He only whiffed 2 guys but the Blue Jays just don’t strike out. In fact, only one team has struck out less than they have this season. We should give him a break for that. All this guy needs is a whiffy opponent and I think he has one today.
Ellis is going to see the Yankees today and while they haven’t been terrible in the strikeout area, they haven’t been good either. Over their last 197 at bats they’ve fanned 53 times. The notorious whiff master, Joey Gallo, should be in the lineup today so Ellis starts with 1 K before he throws one pitch. This could be the sneakiest bet we’ve ever made together.
I love this MLB player prop.
