Best MLB player prop for Saturday: McKenzie to fan Angels

It’s finally Saturday again and that means one thing, gambling. Now a lot of guys take a lot of different approaches to Saturdays but one thing I like to do is find a MLB player prop and hammer it. Nothing feels better than that. Nothing. Luckily for us, FanDuel looks like they put out a promo line on Triston McKenzie. The other books have him priced right but for some reason FanDuel doesn’t believe in our guy. When you see a misplaced MLB player prop, you have to hammer it. It’s in the gambling constitution.

Triston McKenzie over 5.5 strikeouts (-110)

It seems like FanDuel is the only one sleeping on this MLB player prop. BetMGM is 5.5 -145 which is pretty much unplayable. DraftKings went full run and hide with a 6.5 +110 that is actually not that bad when you think about it. At the end of the day, I was most comfortable with 5.5 -110 at FanDuel.

Let me tell you a little about Triston McKenzie. He almost threw a perfect game last time out. Does that mean I’m chasing him? God no. I’ve been watching in the bushes just waiting for this kid to put it all together. He’s a pure strikeout guy who is as smooth as they come. The issue for him has been staying in the game, which he’s gotten through 6 innings in each of his last 3 starts, and opponent. The Los Angeles Angels are not Oakland, Toronto or Houston. They whiff all the time.

Over the last week, no team in MLB has struck out more than the Angels. They are right at about a 30% k-rate which is what we need to target. With Jared Walsh, Max Stassi, Brandon Marsh, Jo Adell and Justin Upton in the lineup, this kid could get 6 strikeouts in his first time through the order. None of these Angels have seen him before which is another reason to like this. I bet McKenzie fans at least 6 Angels today.
