The 2021 MLB season is approaching the home stretch and it’s been long enough for us to more or less know where things stand. We have a nice slate on Wednesday, with plenty of opportunities for value. One of the best games is this AL East showdown as the Toronto Blue Jays take on the New York Yankees. What better way to make this game even more exciting than by betting a same game parlay?

We of course also have thoughts on the side and total for each of today’s matchup, which you can view in our ‘MLB picks‘ tab.

Toronto Blue Jays -2.5 (+250)

Alek Manoah over 5.5 strikeouts (-108)

Under 10.5 (-130)

Same Game Parlay odds: +1034

We have a 3-leg parlay which pays out just north of 10/1 with FanDuel Sportsbook. Let’s break it down:

Toronto Blue Jays -2.5 (+250)

Well, I think it’s safe to say the Yankees’ hot streak is officially over as we begin this same game parlay. New York caught fire for a while with 13 straight victories, but they’ve now gone just 2-8 in their last 10 games. If anything, they’re ice cold at the moment. Their lineup has been completely quiet so far in this series, and now they have to face Alek Manoah, who has been having a great season. Manoah has a 1.10 WHIP to go with his 3.63 ERA, and that’s even after having a couple of disastrous starts.

The Yankees will send Luis Gil to the mound here. Gil is a 23-year-old rookie who has made three career big league appearances. He hasn’t pitched in the majors in a few weeks, and now is being asked to face a Blue Jays offense that has the highest OPS in the entire league. Toronto has won nine of 10, and their sky-high offensive upside means they always make sense on this kind of alt run line.

Alek Manoah over 5.5 strikeouts (-108)

This correlates heavily with the first leg of our same game parlay. If Manoah is having a great game and making guys miss, the Blue Jays are much more likely to cover the -2.5. I’m pretty high on Manoah, and he has 88 strikeouts in 79 and 1/3 innings this year, easily better than one per inning. The last time he faced the Yankees was in his first start back on May 27th, and he struck out seven. He’s got the potential to make a ton of batters whiff, as he showed when he struck out 11 in one start against the Angels last month. New York’s offense is cold, so now is the time to take an opposing pitcher’s strikeout prop.

Under 10.5 (-130)

To wrap this same game parlay up we’ve got the under 10.5. The Yankees have scored just one total run through the first two games of this series. In that aforementioned start against New York back on May 27th, Manoah gave up only two hits and no runs in six innings. I don’t see the Yankees doing too much damage, and the Blue Jays aren’t going to send this one over by themselves. Gil might be young, but he’s shown a ton of potential so far in limited action. He’s also got a great bullpen backing him up. Toronto won the first game of this series 8-0, and the second game 5-1. Both of those scores would work for us here.
