Juan Soto Nationals

I like to think about Thursdays as a test run for the weekend. Days like today are perfect since we have games starting right at noon with the Washington Nationals and New York Mets on MLB Network. Given the fact that we have more MLB tonight as well as NFL football, today is a party. It’s pretty much a Saturday except we’re calling it Thursday. If I was in charge, I’d say everyone would be required by law to have a same game parlay on the first game of the day. Diving into the first game headfirst is a must. Here’s what I have in mind.

Don’t forget that you can also follow me on Twitter for any other bets I might throw out throughout the day. Yesterday’s Touki Toussaint prop was magic and everyone following on Twitter got in on that magic. Bets are just flying all over the place here so they’re easy to miss if you aren’t paying attention.

Washington Nationals -1.5 (+310)

Mets vs Nationals under 5.5 (+130)

Parlay odds: +1004

Washington Nationals -1.5 (+310)

I know the Nationals are trotting out Sean Nolin today but I ain’t scared. I know the guy hasn’t pitched in MLB since 2015 but I don’t care. It’s easy to be fearless when you’re betting against the New York Mets. They’ve only won 3 of their last 12 games and they can’t hit lefties. They really can’t hit anyone but especially lefties. In fact, only 7 teams in all of MLB are worse in terms of OPS against southpaws. That’s gross. New York will have Marcus Stroman on the bump today but is that really a good thing? They’ve lost 5 of his last 6 starts and every loss has been by at least 2 runs. At +310, this is the kind of bet you tell your friends about (if it wins).

I know I said I like the Nationals partly because of Stroman but he’s not horrible. The Mets have been losing his starts because they can’t hit. He’s had a 2-0 loss as well as a 4-1 loss recently so we can get home at under 5.5. This is only a 7 inning game and if it takes the guys a few innings to check in, that’s even better. We’re talking about the Nationals here too so there is that. It’s not like they can hit either as they’ve . They were sellers at the all-star break and the only real bat they have left is Juan Soto. I don’t mind a 3-1 super boring early afternoon game one bit as long as it’s Washington that comes out on top. This isn’t a bad bet at +1004 odds.
