The Minnesota Twins are in Tampa playing the Rays today at 4:05pm ET on Fox Sports 1. That’s all I need to start thinking about a same game parlay. Throw in the fact that Chris Archer is on the mound for the Rays, and I’m 100% in. All we need to do is find something else to tie him to and bam, magic is made. This is so easy!

Chris Archer 8+ strikeouts (+260)

You folks know I am a Chris Archer guy but after watching his last start, how are people not? He was a strikeout factory last time out and they only let him go 4 innings. One of these days he’s going to get a full workload and when he does, double digits are coming. That day could be today. He didn’t report any issues after his last start and today he gets the Twins, who just struck out 13 times last night. Archer will need a longer leash to get home on this number but I think he has one at this point. It wouldn’t be shocking to see him throw 80+ pitches today. The number is right for the risk we are taking with this one.

We live in a world where sports books don’t think a pitcher can get 8+ strikeouts in a game that sees 10+ runs scored. That’s crazy. As good at striking people out as Archer is, he still gives up runs. The last time he pitched he gave up 2 runs in just 4 innings. He whiffed 6 guys that day and if he would have stayed in longer, he would have flirted with 10. This total is not as much about Archer as it is about the Twins. Andrew Albers is on the hill and he’s highly unlikely to go more than 5 innings. When he leaves, we’ll see a Twins bullpen that is 24th in ERA over the last couple of weeks. No team in MLB has scored more runs than the Rays this season. They could easily win this one 8-2 and cash this parlay.
