Best Bets Today — November 6, 2026
Updated November 6, 2026 · Money Maverick Sports
76 games on the Best Bets board for Friday, November 6, 2026 across NCAAB, NCAAF, NBA, NHL. 11 of them are priced inside three points, which is where a half point of line shopping is worth the most. The tightest number on the board is Jackets @ Sabres at -1.5 — a one-score game the market leans in only slightly. Totals average 148.7 across the slate. Every number below is the median across US books at publication, not one sportsbook's opinion — treat it as the market and compare it to the price in front of you.
Archived edition — market snapshot from Friday, November 6, 2026. Every spread, total and price on this page is the number that was on the board when this edition published on that date. The Card On Nov 6
A best bet is not the game we like most. It is the game where the gap between our number and the market's is largest relative to what it costs to get on.
No graded plays were published on this page for November 6, 2026. Members receive the full card — every play, the write-up behind it and the recommended unit sizing — before the numbers move, and every result is posted publicly afterwards on the records page whether it won or lost.

Game-By-Game Previews
Each read below is drafted by our preview engine from the consensus numbers on this board and nothing else, then filtered before publication: it cannot cite an injury, a record or a statistic, because it is not given any, and language that promises a result is rejected outright. They are a starting point for your own handicapping, not a substitute for it. The plays we actually stake are on the card above.
Every number quoted in these reads is the one that was on the board on November 6, 2026. Nothing here has been revised with hindsight, and nothing here reflects the current market.
Columbus Blue Jackets at Buffalo Sabres
Card focus
NHL · Fri 7:10 PM ET · Sabres -1.5 · O/U 6.5 · ML Jackets +146 / Sabres -172
The consensus has Sabres -1.5, a margin narrow enough that the difference between books matters more than the difference between the teams. Totals are where a close game gets interesting, and this one is posted at 6.5. Moneyline consensus is Jackets +146 / Sabres -172. The board above is the median across US books at publication. Check it against your book before 7:10 PM ET rather than assuming they match.
Anaheim Ducks at Calgary Flames
Card focus
NHL · Fri 8:10 PM ET · Flames -1.5 · O/U 6.5 · ML Ducks +105 / Flames -125
A -1.5 price on Flames puts this inside a single score, and games priced this close are where a half point is worth the most of anywhere on the board. The market has priced 6.5 points into this one, which is the number to start from if the side is too close to call. Moneyline consensus is Ducks +105 / Flames -125. Whatever you make of it, shop the number before 8:10 PM ET; a half point here is worth more than most opinions about the game.
San Jose Sharks at Minnesota Wild
Card focus
NHL · Fri 8:10 PM ET · Wild -1.5 · O/U 6.5 · ML Sharks +215 / Wild -260
The consensus has Wild -1.5, a margin narrow enough that the difference between books matters more than the difference between the teams. Totals are where a close game gets interesting, and this one is posted at 6.5. Moneyline consensus is Sharks +215 / Wild -260. The board above is the median across US books at publication. Check it against your book before 8:10 PM ET rather than assuming they match.
Portland Pilots at UT-Arlington Mavericks
Card focus
NCAAB · Fri 9:30 PM ET · Pilots -1.5 · O/U 150.5 · ML Pilots -115 / Mavericks -105
Pilots is only -1.5 against Mavericks, which is the market saying it expects a one-score game and leaning barely at all. 150.5 is the posted total. Comparing it against what you think the game looks like is usually a cleaner decision than picking a side this close. Moneyline consensus is Pilots -115 / Mavericks -105. None of that is a recommendation — it is what the price implies. Check the current number before 9:30 PM ET and decide from there.
Massachusetts Minutemen at Boston College Eagles
NCAAB · Fri 4:00 PM ET · Eagles -5.5 · O/U 145.5 · ML Minutemen +200 / Eagles -245
Eagles -5.5 is a real but containable edge — the market expects them to win without expecting the game to stop being a game. 145.5 is the posted total. Comparing it against what you think the game looks like is usually a cleaner decision than picking a side this close. Moneyline consensus is Minutemen +200 / Eagles -245. The board above is the median across US books at publication. Check it against your book before 4:00 PM ET rather than assuming they match.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions at Baylor Bears
NCAAB · Fri 5:00 PM ET · Bears -36.5 · O/U 158.5 · ML Lions +9000 / Bears -50000
A -36.5 spread says the books see a mismatch. At that size the side is rarely the useful bet; what the total implies about the shape of the game usually is. A total of 158.5 beside a spread this size is the market describing pace as much as strength; that is the half of the price still open to disagreement. Moneyline consensus is Lions +9000 / Bears -50000. Prices move up to 5:00 PM ET, so treat the number here as where the market was and not necessarily where you can get on.
West Florida Argonauts at Florida Int'l Golden Panthers
NCAAB · Fri 5:00 PM ET · Panthers -13.5 · O/U 160.5 · ML Argonauts +725 / Panthers -1300
-13.5 on Panthers is the market expecting this to be decided early, which makes the total the more informative of the two prices here. The total is 160.5, and on a game priced this lopsided it is the number carrying most of the information: it tells you whether the market expects the favourite to bury this or grind it out. Moneyline consensus is Argonauts +725 / Panthers -1300. None of that is a recommendation — it is what the price implies. Check the current number before 5:00 PM ET and decide from there.
Northeastern Huskies at Virginia Cavaliers
NCAAB · Fri 5:00 PM ET · Cavaliers -34.5 · O/U 160.5 · ML Huskies +5650 / Cavaliers -30000
A -34.5 spread says the books see a mismatch. At that size the side is rarely the useful bet; what the total implies about the shape of the game usually is. With the side this clear, 160.5 is the number worth arguing about — it is the market's estimate of the shape of the game rather than its winner. Moneyline consensus is Huskies +5650 / Cavaliers -30000. Whether that reads cheap or expensive is your call to make against your own book before 5:00 PM ET.
Eastern Washington Eagles at Oregon Ducks
NCAAB · Fri 6:00 PM ET · Ducks -16.5 · O/U 151.5 · ML Eagles +1100 / Ducks -2100
-16.5 on Ducks is the market expecting this to be decided early, which makes the total the more informative of the two prices here. A total of 151.5 beside a spread this size is the market describing pace as much as strength; that is the half of the price still open to disagreement. Moneyline consensus is Eagles +1100 / Ducks -2100. Compare this against your own book before 6:00 PM ET — the price you actually get is the only one that pays.
Youngstown St Penguins at Ohio State Buckeyes
NCAAB · Fri 6:30 PM ET · Buckeyes -25.5 · O/U 155 · ML Penguins +3500 / Buckeyes -20000
A -25.5 spread says the books see a mismatch. At that size the side is rarely the useful bet; what the total implies about the shape of the game usually is. The total is 155, and on a game priced this lopsided it is the number carrying most of the information: it tells you whether the market expects the favourite to bury this or grind it out. Moneyline consensus is Penguins +3500 / Buckeyes -20000. Whatever you make of it, shop the number before 6:30 PM ET; a half point here is worth more than most opinions about the game.
Valparaiso Beacons at Purdue Boilermakers
NCAAB · Fri 6:30 PM ET · Boilermakers -19 · O/U 146.5 · ML Beacons +1413 / Boilermakers -4250
-19 on Boilermakers is the market expecting this to be decided early, which makes the total the more informative of the two prices here. With the side this clear, 146.5 is the number worth arguing about — it is the market's estimate of the shape of the game rather than its winner. Moneyline consensus is Beacons +1413 / Boilermakers -4250. The board above is the median across US books at publication. Check it against your book before 6:30 PM ET rather than assuming they match.
South Carolina St Bulldogs at South Carolina Upstate Spartans
NCAAB · Fri 6:30 PM ET · Spartans -7.5 · O/U 148.5 · ML Bulldogs +255 / Spartans -330
Spartans -7.5 is a two-score expectation. Prices this long are usually more about how the favourite finishes than whether it leads. A total of 148.5 beside a spread this size is the market describing pace as much as strength; that is the half of the price still open to disagreement. Moneyline consensus is Bulldogs +255 / Spartans -330. Prices move up to 6:30 PM ET, so treat the number here as where the market was and not necessarily where you can get on.
Virginia Tech Hokies at SMU Mustangs
NCAAF · Fri 7:00 PM ET · Mustangs -6.5 · O/U 56.5 · ML Hokies +185 / Mustangs -225
At -6.5, Mustangs is favoured by more than a field goal and less than a comfortable margin, which is the range where the total and the side inform each other most. 56.5 is the posted total. Comparing it against what you think the game looks like is usually a cleaner decision than picking a side this close. Moneyline consensus is Hokies +185 / Mustangs -225. This one straddles 7, football's second-biggest margin cluster, so the half point is worth chasing across books. None of that is a recommendation — it is what the price implies. Check the current number before 7:00 PM ET and decide from there.
American Eagles at Clemson Tigers
NCAAB · Fri 7:00 PM ET · Tigers -18.5 · O/U 141.5 · ML Eagles +1325 / Tigers -3500
A -18.5 spread says the books see a mismatch. At that size the side is rarely the useful bet; what the total implies about the shape of the game usually is. With the side this clear, 141.5 is the number worth arguing about — it is the market's estimate of the shape of the game rather than its winner. Moneyline consensus is Eagles +1325 / Tigers -3500. Whether that reads cheap or expensive is your call to make against your own book before 7:00 PM ET.
Austin Peay Governors at Kennesaw St Owls
NCAAB · Fri 7:00 PM ET · Owls -5.5 · O/U 157.5 · ML Governors +208 / Owls -257
The number on Owls is -5.5, which prices a clear advantage rather than a mismatch, and leaves the underdog live in the fourth quarter. Totals are where a close game gets interesting, and this one is posted at 157.5. Moneyline consensus is Governors +208 / Owls -257. Compare this against your own book before 7:00 PM ET — the price you actually get is the only one that pays.
Indiana St Sycamores at Ball State Cardinals
NCAAB · Fri 7:00 PM ET · Cardinals -3 · O/U 147.5 · ML Sycamores +125 / Cardinals -151
-3 on Cardinals is a lean, not a verdict: the market is telling you it expects Sycamores to be within a score of this at the end. The total sits at 147.5, which is the faster read on this game than the side: it says how much scoring the market has priced in before you form your own view. Moneyline consensus is Sycamores +125 / Cardinals -151. Whatever you make of it, shop the number before 7:00 PM ET; a half point here is worth more than most opinions about the game.
Boston Univ. Terriers at Brown Bears
NCAAB · Fri 7:00 PM ET · Bears -5.5 · O/U 158.5 · ML Terriers +185 / Bears -225
Bears -5.5 is a real but containable edge — the market expects them to win without expecting the game to stop being a game. 158.5 is the posted total. Comparing it against what you think the game looks like is usually a cleaner decision than picking a side this close. Moneyline consensus is Terriers +185 / Bears -225. The board above is the median across US books at publication. Check it against your book before 7:00 PM ET rather than assuming they match.

A -26.5 spread says the books see a mismatch. At that size the side is rarely the useful bet; what the total implies about the shape of the game usually is. A total of 142.5 beside a spread this size is the market describing pace as much as strength; that is the half of the price still open to disagreement. Moneyline consensus is Eagles +3500 / Patriots -20000. Prices move up to 7:00 PM ET, so treat the number here as where the market was and not necessarily where you can get on.

-16.5 on Wolfpack is the market expecting this to be decided early, which makes the total the more informative of the two prices here. The total is 152.5, and on a game priced this lopsided it is the number carrying most of the information: it tells you whether the market expects the favourite to bury this or grind it out. Moneyline consensus is Buccaneers +1050 / Wolfpack -2050. None of that is a recommendation — it is what the price implies. Check the current number before 7:00 PM ET and decide from there.

Phoenix -9 is a two-score expectation. Prices this long are usually more about how the favourite finishes than whether it leads. A total of 153.5 beside a spread this size is the market describing pace as much as strength; that is the half of the price still open to disagreement. Moneyline consensus is Spartans +328 / Phoenix -437. Compare this against your own book before 7:00 PM ET — the price you actually get is the only one that pays.

What Makes A Play A Best Bet
The phrase is used loosely everywhere, so here is the specific test a play has to pass to reach this page's card.
- A priced disagreement. Our number on the game differs from the market's by more than the vig we pay to get on. No disagreement, no play, however attractive the matchup.
- A reason that existed before the number. A schedule spot, a pace mismatch, a pitching edge, a key-number position. If the reasoning was constructed to justify a number we already liked, it is not a reason.
- A price still available. An edge that has already been bet away by the time you read it is not an edge. That is why the card ships early and why closing line value is the honest scorecard.
- A size that fits. A larger edge earns a second unit. It does not earn a bankroll. See unit sizing.
Parlays built for payout rather than price, "lock of the day" language, and the practice of publishing a best bet every single day regardless of what the board offers. Some days the honest answer is one play, and some days it is none.
How To Compare Prices Across Sports
The board above mixes leagues on purpose, because the question that matters on a mixed slate is not which game you like but which price is best. A -3.5 in the NFL, a -145 in baseball and a 224.5 total in the NBA are all the same kind of object once you convert them.
Convert everything to implied probability and the comparison becomes mechanical: a -145 favourite needs to win 59.2% of the time to break even, so if you think the true number is 63% you have a play, and if you think it is 58% you do not, no matter how confident the write-up sounds. Football spreads need the same treatment against key numbers before they are comparable at all.
The by-sport editions go deeper on each: NFL, NBA, MLB and college football.
What This Page Is Not
It is not a feed of guaranteed winners, and nobody honest sells one. Long-run handicapping at a professional level means winning somewhere in the mid-50s against the spread, which is enough to matter enormously and nothing like enough to be certain about any single game.
It is also not a substitute for your own process. The most valuable thing on this page for a new bettor is the guide list further down, not the card — are sports picks worth it makes that case honestly, including the parts that argue against paying for anything.
Money Maverick Sports publishes analysis and opinion, not predictions of certainty. No play on this page or behind the membership wall is guaranteed. Bet only what you can afford to lose, and if betting has stopped being a choice, call 1-800-GAMBLER.
Before You Bet: The Guides Behind This Card
Nothing on this page beats knowing the mechanics cold. These are the evergreen guides the analysis above assumes, and they do not change when the slate does.
| Guide | What it settles |
|---|---|
| Expected value | The one calculation that defines a best bet. |
| Closing line value | How to judge a play before it settles. |
| Unit sizing | Why a best bet is not automatically a bigger bet. |
| Line shopping | The habit that turns a small edge into a real one. |
| Bankroll management | Surviving the run that tests everything. |
| Choosing a picks service | What to demand before you pay anyone. |
| Record keeping | You cannot improve what you do not log. |
| Responsible gambling | The limits worth setting while you are calm. |
The full library runs to more than fifty pages: betting guides for method, sports betting picks hub for this sport specifically, and the glossary for anything above that needs a definition.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are the odds on this page still available to bet?
No. Every spread, total and price here is the market snapshot captured on November 6, 2026, the day this edition published. The games have been played and the numbers are a historical record. For the current board see best bets today.
Why keep old editions online?
Because a service that deletes its old boards is asking to be taken on trust. Keeping each edition exactly as it published means the numbers we posted before the games can be checked against what happened after them, and the graded plays are totalled on the records page whether the month was good or bad.
Were the plays on this card graded?
Plays are graded once the games finish, and the result is shown on the card above — win, loss or push. A play still marked pending on an old edition is one that has not been settled yet; it is never removed. Past results do not predict future results.
