College Football Picks Today: October 24, 2026
Consensus spreads and totals across US books, a read on every game on the board, and the method behind the card — refreshed every morning.
Updated October 24, 2026 · Money Maverick Sports
A loaded Saturday slate features several near-pick'em spreads mixed with lopsided favorites like Miami, SMU and Northwestern laying 18.5 to 20 points. The numbers split cleanly: tight single-digit lines at Baylor-Kansas, Kansas State-Arizona State and San Diego State-Colorado State versus blowout math in the Pitt-Miami and Cal-SMU games. Totals range from a MACtion-low 40 to a wide-open 59.5, giving total bettors more texture than some of the lopsided sides.
Numbers below are the median across 11 US sportsbooks surveyed when this edition published, not one book's opinion. Lines move all day — confirm the current price at your own book before betting, and read line shopping for why the half point you give away is the most expensive habit in betting.
Today's Card
College football is the softest major market in American betting, because a hundred and thirty teams is more than any book can price precisely and far more than the public watches.
Today's graded plays have not been published on this page. Members receive the full card — every play, the write-up behind it and the recommended unit sizing — before the numbers move, and every result is posted publicly afterwards on the records page whether it won or lost.

Game-By-Game Previews
Each read below is drafted by our preview engine from the consensus numbers on this board and nothing else, then filtered before publication: it cannot cite an injury, a record or a statistic, because it is not given any, and language that promises a result is rejected outright. They are a starting point for your own handicapping, not a substitute for it. The plays we actually stake are on the card above.
Baylor Bears at Kansas Jayhawks
Card focus
NCAAF · Sat 1:00 PM ET · Bears -1 · O/U 53.5 · ML Bears -115 / Jayhawks -105
Baylor is priced at -1 but Kansas carries a -105 moneyline, meaning the market sees this closer to even money than the spread number alone suggests. Baylor covering requires separating by more than a field goal in what's effectively a coin-flip price; Kansas simply needs to avoid trailing by two scores. With the side this thin, the 53.5 total is the sharper discussion point, asking whether this stays a possession-trading game or tightens into the 40s.
Kansas State Wildcats at Arizona State Sun Devils
Card focus
NCAAF · Sat 3:45 PM ET · Wildcats -1.5 · O/U 52.5 · ML Wildcats -120 / Devils -2
Kansas State -1.5 with a -120 moneyline shows the market leaning only mildly toward the Wildcats despite being the designated favorite on the road. A half-point there means a push on a final margin of exactly 1 isn't in play, but anything decided by a single point still separates the two bets. At 52.5, the total sits in a middle band that doesn't obviously favor over or under given the tightness of the side number.
San Diego State Aztecs at Colorado State Rams
Card focus
NCAAF · Sat 6:30 PM ET · Aztecs -1 · O/U 59.5 · ML Aztecs -115 / Rams -105
San Diego State -1 with Colorado State at -105 on the moneyline is about as even as a line gets — this is a game the market refuses to lean on. The spread bet basically asks which team wins outright by any amount. The total of 59.5 is the more interesting number here, sitting high enough that a defensive script in either direction would swing it meaningfully against a flat side price.
LSU Tigers at Auburn Tigers
NCAAF · Sat 12:00 PM ET · Tigers -7 · O/U 51.5 · ML Tigers -290 / Tigers +230
LSU -7 sits directly on the most common key number in football, so this line carries no half-point cushion either way — a 7-point LSU win pushes outright. Covering requires LSU to find one more possession of separation than a standard touchdown-plus-extra-point margin; Auburn covers by staying within a field goal or winning outright, which the +230 moneyline prices as a real but secondary outcome. At 51.5, the total trails the spread's implied gap, making the number worth more attention than the price suggests.
California Golden Bears at SMU Mustangs
NCAAF · Sat 12:00 PM ET · Mustangs -18.5 · O/U 55 · ML Bears +700 / Mustangs -1115
SMU -18.5 is too wide a number to carry much side value — Cal covering means losing by less than three scores against a heavy favorite priced near -1115 on the moneyline. The total of 55 is where the real argument lives: a running-clock scenario late pushes under, while SMU needing to pour it on to clear 18.5 pushes the total up. The gap between those two outcomes is the entire bet here.
Texas Tech Red Raiders at Cincinnati Bearcats
NCAAF · Sat 12:00 PM ET · Raiders -11.5 · O/U 57 · ML Raiders -470 / Bearcats +360
Texas Tech -11.5 asks Cincinnati to find three scores of cushion just to cover, a tall order against a -470 moneyline favorite. The total at 57 is set high enough that even a comfortable Texas Tech win inside the number is plausible if Cincinnati keeps pace on points without keeping pace on the scoreboard margin. That makes total the more balanced market relative to a spread that leans heavily one direction.
Rice Owls at Florida Atlantic Owls
NCAAF · Sat 12:00 PM ET · Owls -8 · O/U 53.5 · ML Owls +275 / Owls -345
Florida Atlantic -8 crosses the touchdown mark but not cleanly into double-score territory, so Rice covering only requires finishing within one score plus a field goal. The -345 moneyline on FAU still implies a clear favorite expectation straight up. At 53.5, the total is positioned in line with the spread rather than against it, leaving the side as the more discussed number of the two here.
Indiana Hoosiers at Michigan Wolverines
NCAAF · Sat 12:00 PM ET · Hoosiers -7.5 · O/U 42.5 · ML Hoosiers -300 / Wolverines +240
Indiana -7.5 against a total of just 42.5 is a notable combination — the market expects a low-scoring game decided by about a touchdown and a half. Michigan covering means keeping this compact and staying within one score longer than the total implies is likely; Indiana covering needs one extra possession of separation in a game not expected to produce many possessions. That tension between spread and total is the more interesting read than either number alone.
Pittsburgh Panthers at Miami Hurricanes
NCAAF · Sat 12:00 PM ET · Hurricanes -20 · O/U 48.5 · ML Panthers +945 / Hurricanes -1700
Miami -20 at a -1700 moneyline reflects about as lopsided a market view as this slate offers. Pittsburgh covering means staying inside three scores against a heavy favorite, a wider margin for error than the moneyline price implies. The total of 48.5 is the more balanced number by comparison, not leaning as hard in either direction as the spread does.
Rutgers Scarlet Knights at Northwestern Wildcats
NCAAF · Sat 12:00 PM ET · Wildcats -15.5 · O/U 59 · ML Knights +525 / Wildcats -750
Northwestern -15.5 prices Rutgers at +525 on the moneyline, underlining how little the market expects a straight-up upset. Covering for Rutgers means staying within two scores plus a field goal, a lower bar than winning outright. At 59, the total sits well above the spread's implied margin, which is the more notable disconnect on this card — a lot of combined scoring is baked in even with one side strongly favored.
West Virginia Mountaineers at TCU Horned Frogs
NCAAF · Sat 12:00 PM ET · Frogs -10.5 · O/U 58 · ML Mountaineers +310 / Frogs -390
TCU -10.5 sits just above the key number of 10, so West Virginia covering by exactly 10 isn't on the table — WVU needs to lose by single digits or win outright, which the +310 moneyline treats as a real possibility. At 58, the total runs high enough that this reads more as a scoring environment bet than a margin bet, making total the sharper discussion point relative to the spread.
Western Michigan Broncos at Toledo Rockets
NCAAF · Sat 12:00 PM ET · Rockets -2.5 · O/U 47 · ML Broncos +120 / Rockets -145
Toledo -2.5 removes any push on a 3-point final, the most common margin in college football, which is the whole value of the half point here. Western Michigan covering requires winning outright or losing by a field goal or less, priced at +120 on the moneyline. The total of 47 runs modestly under some of the other numbers on this slate, putting it in a tighter band than the spread suggests.
Akron Zips at Kent State Golden Flashes
NCAAF · Sat 1:00 PM ET · Flashes -3 · O/U 47.5 · ML Zips +125 / Flashes -150
Kent State -3 lands directly on the single most common margin in football, so this line carries real push risk either way. Akron covering means staying within a field goal or winning outright, priced at +125 on the moneyline. At 47.5, the total sits close to the spread's implied scoring level, making this one of the more balanced numbers on the board for bettors who prefer a clean key-number argument.
Miami (OH) RedHawks at Central Michigan Chippewas
NCAAF · Sat 1:00 PM ET · RedHawks -3.5 · O/U 40 · ML RedHawks -170 / Chippewas +143
Miami (OH) -3.5 clears the 3-point key number by a half point, meaning a 3-point final result pushes nothing and simply loses for Central Michigan bettors on the side. That half point is the entire value proposition of this line relative to a flat 3. At 40, the total is the lowest on the slate, suggesting the total market may be the more defensible lean given how tightly scoring is projected here.
Oregon Ducks at Illinois Fighting Illini
NCAAF · Sat 3:00 PM ET · Ducks -10 · O/U 49.5 · ML Ducks -390 / Illini +310
At -10, Ducks is being priced to win by two scores, and a number that size shifts the interesting question from who wins to whether Illini keeps it respectable. With the side this clear, 49.5 is the number worth arguing about — it is the market's estimate of the shape of the game rather than its winner. Moneyline consensus is Ducks -390 / Illini +310. The board above is the median across US books at publication. Check it against your book before 3:00 PM ET rather than assuming they match.
Texas A&M Aggies at Alabama Crimson Tide
NCAAF · Sat 3:30 PM ET · Tide -13.5 · O/U 50.5 · ML Aggies +425 / Tide -590
A -13.5 spread says the books see a mismatch. At that size the side is rarely the useful bet; what the total implies about the shape of the game usually is. A total of 50.5 beside a spread this size is the market describing pace as much as strength; that is the half of the price still open to disagreement. Moneyline consensus is Aggies +425 / Tide -590. Prices move up to 3:30 PM ET, so treat the number here as where the market was and not necessarily where you can get on.
BYU Cougars at UCF Knights
NCAAF · Sat 3:30 PM ET · Cougars -7.5 · O/U 43.5 · ML Cougars -290 / Knights +235
The books have Cougars at -7.5, which is a two-score price and therefore a bet on margin rather than on outcome. The total is 43.5, and on a game priced this lopsided it is the number carrying most of the information: it tells you whether the market expects the favourite to bury this or grind it out. Moneyline consensus is Cougars -290 / Knights +235. This one straddles 7, football's second-biggest margin cluster, so the half point is worth chasing across books. None of that is a recommendation — it is what the price implies. Check the current number before 3:30 PM ET and decide from there.
Sacramento State Hornets at Ball State Cardinals
NCAAF · Sat 3:30 PM ET · Cardinals -14.5 · O/U 51 · ML Hornets +450 / Cardinals -625
A -14.5 spread says the books see a mismatch. At that size the side is rarely the useful bet; what the total implies about the shape of the game usually is. With the side this clear, 51 is the number worth arguing about — it is the market's estimate of the shape of the game rather than its winner. Moneyline consensus is Hornets +450 / Cardinals -625. Whether that reads cheap or expensive is your call to make against your own book before 3:30 PM ET.
Boston College Eagles at Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
NCAAF · Sat 3:30 PM ET · Jackets -6 · O/U 50.5 · ML Eagles +195 / Jackets -238
The number on Jackets is -6, which prices a clear advantage rather than a mismatch, and leaves the underdog live in the fourth quarter. 50.5 is the posted total. Comparing it against what you think the game looks like is usually a cleaner decision than picking a side this close. Moneyline consensus is Eagles +195 / Jackets -238. Compare this against your own book before 3:30 PM ET — the price you actually get is the only one that pays.
Bowling Green Falcons at Buffalo Bulls
NCAAF · Sat 3:30 PM ET · Bulls -3 · O/U 44.5 · ML Falcons +135 / Bulls -160
A -3 price on Bulls puts this inside a single score, and games priced this close are where a half point is worth the most of anywhere on the board. The market has priced 44.5 points into this one, which is the number to start from if the side is too close to call. Moneyline consensus is Falcons +135 / Bulls -160. The number is parked on 3, the single most common NFL and college margin, so buying or selling that half point matters more here than anywhere else on the board. Whatever you make of it, shop the number before 3:30 PM ET; a half point here is worth more than most opinions about the game.
Hawaii Rainbow Warriors at Northern Illinois Huskies
NCAAF · Sat 3:30 PM ET · Warriors -3.5 · O/U 48 · ML Warriors -179 / Huskies +150
Warriors -3.5 is a real but containable edge — the market expects them to win without expecting the game to stop being a game. Totals are where a close game gets interesting, and this one is posted at 48. Moneyline consensus is Warriors -179 / Huskies +150. The number sits beside 3, the most common football margin, which makes shopping for the better side of that half point the whole decision. The board above is the median across US books at publication. Check it against your book before 3:30 PM ET rather than assuming they match.
Iowa Hawkeyes at Minnesota Golden Gophers
NCAAF · Sat 3:30 PM ET · Hawkeyes -7.5 · O/U 40.5 · ML Hawkeyes -285 / Gophers +230
Hawkeyes -7.5 is a two-score expectation. Prices this long are usually more about how the favourite finishes than whether it leads. A total of 40.5 beside a spread this size is the market describing pace as much as strength; that is the half of the price still open to disagreement. Moneyline consensus is Hawkeyes -285 / Gophers +230. This one straddles 7, football's second-biggest margin cluster, so the half point is worth chasing across books. Prices move up to 3:30 PM ET, so treat the number here as where the market was and not necessarily where you can get on.
Michigan State Spartans at UCLA Bruins
NCAAF · Sat 3:30 PM ET · Bruins -15 · O/U 44.5 · ML Spartans +500 / Bruins -690
-15 on Bruins is the market expecting this to be decided early, which makes the total the more informative of the two prices here. The total is 44.5, and on a game priced this lopsided it is the number carrying most of the information: it tells you whether the market expects the favourite to bury this or grind it out. Moneyline consensus is Spartans +500 / Bruins -690. None of that is a recommendation — it is what the price implies. Check the current number before 3:30 PM ET and decide from there.
Oklahoma Sooners at Mississippi State Bulldogs
NCAAF · Sat 3:30 PM ET · Sooners -2.5 · O/U 47.5 · ML Sooners -135 / Bulldogs +114
A -2.5 price on Sooners puts this inside a single score, and games priced this close are where a half point is worth the most of anywhere on the board. The market has priced 47.5 points into this one, which is the number to start from if the side is too close to call. Moneyline consensus is Sooners -135 / Bulldogs +114. The number sits beside 3, the most common football margin, which makes shopping for the better side of that half point the whole decision. Whether that reads cheap or expensive is your call to make against your own book before 3:30 PM ET.
Written reads cover the 24 games closest to a pick'em, where a half point of value is worth the most. The remaining 20 games on today's slate are on the full board above with consensus numbers.
How To Read Today's College Football Numbers
College football's defining feature is dispersion. The gap between the best and worst teams on any Saturday is far wider than anything the NFL produces, and that changes how every number should be read.
- Big spreads are not automatically wrong. A 31-point favourite can be correctly priced, and betting dogs on principle is a losing strategy. What matters is whether the number matches the talent gap, which is what power ratings are for.
- Totals run high and move hard. Tempo differences between programmes are enormous, and a total in the 60s tells you about pace as much as quality.
- Limits are lower, so numbers are softer. Books cannot price a hundred and thirty teams as tightly as thirty-two, and the gap between two books on the same game is routinely a full point or more. This is the sport where shopping earns the most.
- Motivation is real but overused. Look-ahead spots and letdowns exist; they are also the most over-narrated angle in the sport. Treat them as a tiebreaker, never as a thesis.
Why College Numbers Are Softer Than The NFL's
| Factor | NFL | College football |
|---|---|---|
| Teams to price | 32 | 130+ |
| Games per week | ~16 | 60+ |
| Betting limits | Very high | Lower, especially off-brand games |
| Public attention | Every game | Concentrated on ~10 games |
| Book-to-book gaps | Half a point | A point or more |
| Roster turnover | Moderate | Extreme year to year |
The consequence: the profitable college work is usually in games nobody is talking about, and the least profitable is in the one game everybody is. College totals covers the market where that gap is widest.
What Makes Today's Card
Same bar as every other sport: a measurable difference between our number and the market's, larger than the cost of getting on. In college football that difference shows up more often, so the card is longer here than it is in the NFL — and the sizing is deliberately not larger, because the variance is.
Bowl season and the playoff get their own treatment on bowl games and playoff betting, since layoff and motivation genuinely dominate those spots. The record is published either way.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are today's college football picks free?
The board, the game previews and the analysis on this page are free and refresh every morning. The graded card with write-ups and unit sizing goes to members, and results are posted publicly on the records page.
Is college football easier to beat than the NFL?
The numbers are softer, which is not the same as easier. A hundred and thirty teams means books price less precisely, but it also means you have to know something about programmes nobody covers. The edge is real and it is work — and it is concentrated in games the public ignores.
Should I bet big college football underdogs?
Not as a rule. Large spreads in college are frequently correct because the talent gaps genuinely are that wide. The question is always whether this number matches this mismatch, which is a power rating question rather than a philosophical one.
Why are there so many games on this board?
Because a college Saturday can carry sixty games across the FBS. Every game with a consensus number posted for today appears above, ordered by kickoff, so you can see the whole slate rather than the handful on national television.
