NBA Picks Today — November 4, 2026

Updated November 4, 2026 · Money Maverick Sports

14 games on the NBA board for Wednesday, November 4, 2026. 4 of them are priced inside three points, which is where a half point of line shopping is worth the most. The tightest number on the board is 76ers @ Pistons at -2 — a one-score game the market leans in only slightly. Totals average 228 across the slate. Every number below is the median across US books at publication, not one sportsbook's opinion — treat it as the market and compare it to the price in front of you.

Archived edition — market snapshot from Wednesday, November 4, 2026. Every spread, total and price on this page is the number that was on the board when this edition published on that date. It is a historical record: the games have been played, the prices are not current, and nothing here is available to bet. For the live slate see nba picks today.

The Card On Nov 4

The NBA is the most schedule-driven league in American sport. Most of the edge on a given night is in knowing which teams are being asked to do something unreasonable.

Game-By-Game Previews

How these previews are written

Each read below is drafted by our preview engine from the consensus numbers on this board and nothing else, then filtered before publication: it cannot cite an injury, a record or a statistic, because it is not given any, and language that promises a result is rejected outright. They are a starting point for your own handicapping, not a substitute for it. The plays we actually stake are on the card above.

Every number quoted in these reads is the one that was on the board on November 4, 2026. Nothing here has been revised with hindsight, and nothing here reflects the current market.

Philadelphia 76ers at Detroit Pistons

Card focus

NBA · Wed 7:00 PM ET · Pistons -2 · O/U 218 · ML 76ers +110 / Pistons -130

Pistons is only -2 against 76ers, which is the market saying it expects a one-score game and leaning barely at all. 218 is the posted total. Comparing it against what you think the game looks like is usually a cleaner decision than picking a side this close. Moneyline consensus is 76ers +110 / Pistons -130. The board above is the median across US books at publication. Check it against your book before 7:00 PM ET rather than assuming they match.

Atlanta Hawks at Washington Wizards

Card focus

NBA · Wed 7:10 PM ET · Hawks -2.5 · O/U 232.5 · ML Hawks -140 / Wizards +120

A -2.5 price on Hawks puts this inside a single score, and games priced this close are where a half point is worth the most of anywhere on the board. The market has priced 232.5 points into this one, which is the number to start from if the side is too close to call. Moneyline consensus is Hawks -140 / Wizards +120. Prices move up to 7:10 PM ET, so treat the number here as where the market was and not necessarily where you can get on.

Cleveland Cavaliers at Oklahoma City Thunder

Card focus

NBA · Wed 8:00 PM ET · Thunder -2.5 · O/U 228 · ML Cavaliers +115 / Thunder -135

A -2.5 price on Thunder puts this inside a single score, and games priced this close are where a half point is worth the most of anywhere on the board. The market has priced 228 points into this one, which is the number to start from if the side is too close to call. Moneyline consensus is Cavaliers +115 / Thunder -135. Whatever you make of it, shop the number before 8:00 PM ET; a half point here is worth more than most opinions about the game.

Charlotte Hornets at Brooklyn Nets

NBA · Wed 7:30 PM ET · Hornets -3.5 · O/U 214.5 · ML Hornets -160 / Nets +136

At -3.5, Hornets is favoured by more than a field goal and less than a comfortable margin, which is the range where the total and the side inform each other most. Totals are where a close game gets interesting, and this one is posted at 214.5. Moneyline consensus is Hornets -160 / Nets +136. None of that is a recommendation — it is what the price implies. Check the current number before 7:30 PM ET and decide from there.

Milwaukee Bucks at Boston Celtics

NBA · Wed 7:40 PM ET · Celtics -11.5 · O/U 225 · ML Bucks +420 / Celtics -550

At -11.5, Celtics is being priced to win by two scores, and a number that size shifts the interesting question from who wins to whether Bucks keeps it respectable. With the side this clear, 225 is the number worth arguing about — it is the market's estimate of the shape of the game rather than its winner. Moneyline consensus is Bucks +420 / Celtics -550. Whether that reads cheap or expensive is your call to make against your own book before 7:40 PM ET.

Chicago Bulls at New York Knicks

NBA · Wed 7:40 PM ET · Knicks -11.5 · O/U 233.5 · ML Bulls +448 / Knicks -600

Knicks -11.5 is a two-score expectation. Prices this long are usually more about how the favourite finishes than whether it leads. A total of 233.5 beside a spread this size is the market describing pace as much as strength; that is the half of the price still open to disagreement. Moneyline consensus is Bulls +448 / Knicks -600. Compare this against your own book before 7:40 PM ET — the price you actually get is the only one that pays.

Indiana Pacers at Memphis Grizzlies

NBA · Wed 8:10 PM ET · Grizzlies -7 · O/U 229.5 · ML Pacers +215 / Grizzlies -260

Grizzlies -7 is a real but containable edge — the market expects them to win without expecting the game to stop being a game. Totals are where a close game gets interesting, and this one is posted at 229.5. Moneyline consensus is Pacers +215 / Grizzlies -260. The board above is the median across US books at publication. Check it against your book before 8:10 PM ET rather than assuming they match.

Utah Jazz at New Orleans Pelicans

NBA · Wed 8:10 PM ET · Pelicans -5.5 · O/U 235 · ML Jazz +180 / Pelicans -215

The number on Pelicans is -5.5, which prices a clear advantage rather than a mismatch, and leaves the underdog live in the fourth quarter. The total sits at 235, which is the faster read on this game than the side: it says how much scoring the market has priced in before you form your own view. Moneyline consensus is Jazz +180 / Pelicans -215. Prices move up to 8:10 PM ET, so treat the number here as where the market was and not necessarily where you can get on.

Minnesota Timberwolves at Houston Rockets

NBA · Wed 8:30 PM ET · Rockets -8.5 · O/U 220.5 · ML Timberwolves +253 / Rockets -312

The books have Rockets at -8.5, which is a two-score price and therefore a bet on margin rather than on outcome. The total is 220.5, and on a game priced this lopsided it is the number carrying most of the information: it tells you whether the market expects the favourite to bury this or grind it out. Moneyline consensus is Timberwolves +253 / Rockets -312. None of that is a recommendation — it is what the price implies. Check the current number before 8:30 PM ET and decide from there.

Toronto Raptors at Denver Nuggets

NBA · Wed 9:00 PM ET · Nuggets -4.5 · O/U 230.5 · ML Raptors +163 / Nuggets -192

Nuggets -4.5 is a real but containable edge — the market expects them to win without expecting the game to stop being a game. The market has priced 230.5 points into this one, which is the number to start from if the side is too close to call. Moneyline consensus is Raptors +163 / Nuggets -192. Whether that reads cheap or expensive is your call to make against your own book before 9:00 PM ET.

Portland Trail Blazers at Phoenix Suns

NBA · Wed 9:00 PM ET · Blazers -3 · O/U 228 · ML Blazers -150 / Suns +130

The consensus has Blazers -3, a margin narrow enough that the difference between books matters more than the difference between the teams. Totals are where a close game gets interesting, and this one is posted at 228. Moneyline consensus is Blazers -150 / Suns +130. Compare this against your own book before 9:00 PM ET — the price you actually get is the only one that pays.

Dallas Mavericks at San Antonio Spurs

NBA · Wed 9:30 PM ET · Spurs -11.5 · O/U 228 · ML Mavericks +405 / Spurs -542

The books have Spurs at -11.5, which is a two-score price and therefore a bet on margin rather than on outcome. The total is 228, and on a game priced this lopsided it is the number carrying most of the information: it tells you whether the market expects the favourite to bury this or grind it out. Moneyline consensus is Mavericks +405 / Spurs -542. Whatever you make of it, shop the number before 9:30 PM ET; a half point here is worth more than most opinions about the game.

Los Angeles Lakers at Sacramento Kings

NBA · Wed 10:10 PM ET · Lakers -11.5 · O/U 235 · ML Lakers -575 / Kings +423

At -11.5, Lakers is being priced to win by two scores, and a number that size shifts the interesting question from who wins to whether Kings keeps it respectable. With the side this clear, 235 is the number worth arguing about — it is the market's estimate of the shape of the game rather than its winner. Moneyline consensus is Lakers -575 / Kings +423. The board above is the median across US books at publication. Check it against your book before 10:10 PM ET rather than assuming they match.

Miami Heat at Los Angeles Clippers

NBA · Wed 10:40 PM ET · Heat -5 · O/U 234 · ML Heat -204 / Clippers +171

The number on Heat is -5, which prices a clear advantage rather than a mismatch, and leaves the underdog live in the fourth quarter. The market has priced 234 points into this one, which is the number to start from if the side is too close to call. Moneyline consensus is Heat -204 / Clippers +171. Prices move up to 10:40 PM ET, so treat the number here as where the market was and not necessarily where you can get on.

How To Read Tonight's NBA Numbers

Basketball spreads are efficient and basketball totals are less so, and the reason is that a total is a statement about pace as much as about quality.

  • Start with possessions. Two teams that play fast produce a high total even when neither is good. The pace and totals guide covers how to convert an expected possession count into a number.
  • Read the schedule before the matchup. A back-to-back on the road at the end of a five-game trip is worth points, and the market prices it — but not always enough. See back-to-backs and rest and travel.
  • Expect late movement. NBA injury news lands in the hour before tip-off and moves spreads several points. A number posted this morning is provisional in a way an NFL number is not.
  • Blowout risk cuts both ways. A team up thirty rests its starters, which is why large spreads and high totals interact in ways a naive model misses.

Where NBA Value Usually Hides

What Makes Tonight's Card

The bar is the same every night: our number on the game has to differ from the market's by more than the vig. On an eleven-game slate that produces three or four plays, not eleven, and a slate where nothing qualifies gets nothing.

Basketball's schedule structure means a disproportionate share of those plays come from spots rather than from opinions about teams — which is a good thing, because a spot is checkable in advance and an opinion is not. The record is published either way.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the odds on this page still available to bet?

No. Every spread, total and price here is the market snapshot captured on November 4, 2026, the day this edition published. The games have been played and the numbers are a historical record. For the current board see nba picks today.

Why keep old editions online?

Because a service that deletes its old boards is asking to be taken on trust. Keeping each edition exactly as it published means the numbers we posted before the games can be checked against what happened after them, and the graded plays are totalled on the records page whether the month was good or bad.

Were the plays on this card graded?

Plays are graded once the games finish, and the result is shown on the card above — win, loss or push. A play still marked pending on an old edition is one that has not been settled yet; it is never removed. Past results do not predict future results.
