NFL Picks Today: November 8, 2026
Consensus spreads and totals across US books, a read on every game, and the evergreen method behind the card — refreshed every morning.
Updated November 8, 2026 · Money Maverick Sports
Sunday's board runs from pick'em-style spreads like Denver's -2.5 to lopsided numbers such as San Francisco's -9.5. Six games carry a spread of exactly -3 or within half a point of it, the NFL's most contested key number. Totals split between sub-43 defensive lines and 50-plus shootout prices, giving bettors a clear choice between margin and total as the sharper angle on any given game.
Numbers below are the median across 11 US sportsbooks surveyed when this edition published, not one book's opinion. Lines move all day — confirm the current price at your own book before betting, and read line shopping for why the half point you give away is the most expensive habit in betting.
Today's Card
The NFL card is deliberately short. Seventeen games a week means the edge is in waiting for the right number, not in having an opinion on all of them.
Today's graded plays have not been published on this page. Members receive the full card — every play, the write-up behind it and the recommended unit sizing — before the numbers move, and every result is posted publicly afterwards on the records page whether it won or lost.

Game-By-Game Previews
Each read below is drafted by our preview engine from the consensus numbers on this board and nothing else, then filtered before publication: it cannot cite an injury, a record or a statistic, because it is not given any, and language that promises a result is rejected outright. They are a starting point for your own handicapping, not a substitute for it. The plays we actually stake are on the card above.
Cincinnati Bengals at Atlanta Falcons
Card focus
NFL · Sun 9:30 AM ET · Bengals -3 · O/U 52.5 · ML Bengals -175 / Falcons +146
Cincinnati's -3 sits on the single most backed margin in football, meaning a field goal either way decides the side regardless of which team actually plays better. The -175 price on the moneyline shows the market isn't convinced the favorite wins by more than a field goal most of the time. At 52.5, the total is the higher number on today's board, which puts more weight on whether this three-point edge holds up against scoring pace. The side looks tighter than the total here.
Denver Broncos at Carolina Panthers
Card focus
NFL · Sun 1:00 PM ET · Broncos -2.5 · O/U 44.5 · ML Broncos -149 / Panthers +125
Denver's -2.5 avoids the push entirely, landing half a point off the key number 3, so Carolina backers need a simple two-score inefficiency rather than catching a field goal exactly. The moneyline gap, -149 to 125, prices in a near coin-flip outright winner, consistent with a number under a field goal. At 44.5, the total sits in the middle third of the slate's range, offering no obvious lean toward either side on the number alone.
Cleveland Browns at New Orleans Saints
Card focus
NFL · Sun 1:00 PM ET · Saints -3 · O/U 42.5 · ML Browns +145 / Saints -173
New Orleans' -3 again lands on the key number, so half-point versions of this line elsewhere matter more than usual, a push is live. The gap between -173 and 145 on the moneyline reflects a side that's more comfortable favored outright than by exactly a field goal. At 42.5, this is one of the lower totals on the board, suggesting the market expects a game decided by field position and the spread itself rather than scoring volume.
Dallas Cowboys at Indianapolis Colts
NFL · Sun 1:00 PM ET · Cowboys -4.5 · O/U 51.5 · ML Cowboys -230 / Colts +190
Dallas' -4.5 sits off both key numbers, needing more than a field goal but less than a touchdown to cash, a wider margin for error than the 3-point games elsewhere on the slate. The -230 moneyline implies a confident outright favorite. At 51.5, the total is among the highest posted today, pairing a sizable spread with an expectation of scoring from both sides rather than a low-possession, clock-control game.
Detroit Lions at Miami Dolphins
NFL · Sun 1:00 PM ET · Lions -6.5 · O/U 50 · ML Lions -295 / Dolphins +240
Detroit's -6.5 sits a half point off the touchdown, the second most common key number in football, so anyone taking the field goal plus 6.5 points is effectively buying the exact touchdown number cheap. The -295 price reflects heavy favorite status. A total of 50 alongside that size of spread suggests the market is pricing a blowout built on scoring differential, which makes the total arguably the more interesting number here.
New York Jets at Kansas City Chiefs
NFL · Sun 1:00 PM ET · Chiefs -9.5 · O/U 48 · ML Jets +385 / Chiefs -510
Kansas City's -9.5 is well clear of both key numbers, 3 and 7, so there's little half-point value being left on the table by that extra half point beyond 9. The -510 moneyline confirms this is priced as a near-certain outright result, leaving the spread mostly a margin bet. At 48, the total is middling for the slate, meaning the market isn't projecting this margin to come from a specifically high-scoring game.
Los Angeles Rams at Washington Commanders
NFL · Sun 1:00 PM ET · Rams -4.5 · O/U 47.5 · ML Rams -230 / Commanders +190
Los Angeles' -4.5 again falls between the key numbers of 3 and 7, a figure that rewards buying toward either number if the price allows it. The -230 moneyline is consistent with a solid but not overwhelming favorite. At 47.5, the total sits near the slate's median, putting this game in the unremarkable middle of today's board where neither side nor total clearly stands out as the sharper price.
New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles
NFL · Sun 1:00 PM ET · Giants -3 · O/U 38.5 · ML Giants -160 / Eagles +135
New York's -3 sits on the key number once more, meaning the half-point version of this line matters, since a push is a real outcome at exactly 3. The -160 moneyline is modest for a 3-point favorite, suggesting the market sees this as closer to a coin flip than the spread alone implies. At 38.5, this is the lowest total on the entire slate, a figure that makes the total the more interesting number here.
Houston Texans at Los Angeles Chargers
NFL · Sun 4:05 PM ET · Texans -5.5 · O/U 40.5 · ML Texans -250 / Chargers +200
Houston's -5.5 sits just off the key number 7, needing nearly a full touchdown to cover, a meaningfully larger ask than the many 3-point lines elsewhere today. The -250 moneyline backs that up as a confident favorite price. At 40.5, the total ranks among the lowest on the board, pairing a mid-size spread with an expectation of a low-scoring, field-position-driven game rather than a shootout.
Arizona Cardinals at Seattle Seahawks
NFL · Sun 4:25 PM ET · Seahawks -8.5 · O/U 39.5 · ML Cardinals +324 / Seahawks -420
Seattle's -8.5 clears the key number 7 by a point and a half, removing that number from play entirely, so the side is a clean margin bet rather than a key-number question. The -420 moneyline is among the steepest on the slate. At 39.5, the total is the second-lowest posted today, which combined with a near-two-score spread suggests the market expects this margin to come from a low-possession game.
Green Bay Packers at New England Patriots
NFL · Sun 4:25 PM ET · Patriots -3 · O/U 44.5 · ML Packers +146 / Patriots -173
New England's -3 is on the board's most common key number, so the push scenario carries real weight in how this line should be shopped. The -173 moneyline is a touch steeper than a straight 3-point favorite often commands, suggesting the market leans slightly harder toward New England winning outright than the spread alone would indicate. At 44.5, the total sits in the middle of today's range, without a clear tilt either way.
Las Vegas Raiders at San Francisco 49ers
NFL · Sun 4:25 PM ET · 49ers -9.5 · O/U 52 · ML Raiders +360 / 49ers -475
San Francisco's -9.5 clears both key numbers, 3 and 7, so the half point beyond 9 is mostly academic rather than meaningful line value. The -475 moneyline confirms a lopsided outright favorite. At 52, the total is tied for the highest on the slate, meaning this is one of the few games where the market is pricing both a large margin and heavy scoring, which makes the total the more actionable number here.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Chicago Bears
NFL · Sun 8:20 PM ET · Bears -6 · O/U 47.5 · ML Buccaneers +220 / Bears -270
Chicago's -6 sits a point off the touchdown key number, close enough that bettors shopping half points toward 6.5 or 7 should pay attention to where this number sits elsewhere. The -270 moneyline is standard for a favorite of this size. At 47.5, the total is above the slate median, giving this Sunday night game a pricing profile built on both a comfortable margin and a moderate-to-high scoring expectation.
How To Read Today's NFL Numbers
Every spread and total on the board above is the median across the US sportsbooks surveyed at publication, which makes it a fair statement of where the market sits rather than one book's shading. Your own book will differ, sometimes by the half point that decides the bet.
Three things to check before anything else:
- Where the number sits relative to 3 and 7. Roughly a quarter of NFL games land on exactly those margins. Moving from -3 to -2.5 buys real win probability; moving from -5 to -4.5 buys almost none. Detail in key numbers.
- Which direction the number has already travelled. A game that opened at -6 and sits at -3.5 is telling you something the closing number will confirm. That is the substance of closing line value.
- Whether the total or the side is the more interesting price. On most NFL slates the total is the softer of the two, because public money concentrates on sides.
When To Bet An NFL Game Today
NFL numbers follow a weekly rhythm, and the same play is worth different prices depending on when you take it.
| What you like | Best time to bet | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A favourite the public will also like | Early in the week | Public money pushes the number up as the weekend approaches. |
| An unpopular underdog | Sunday morning | That same money has moved the price in your favour. |
| An under | Late | Overs attract recreational money; unders get cheaper. |
| A total affected by wind | Once the forecast firms | Wind is priced late and often incompletely. |
| Anything after a quarterback ruling | Immediately | Backup-quarterback spreads move several points within minutes. |
None of that tells you which side to take. It tells you what a side is worth once you have decided, which is the part most bettors skip.
What Makes Today's Card
A number reaching the card has to clear the same bar every day: our own price on the game has to differ from the market price by more than the vig we are paying to get on. That is it. No play is added because a slate looks thin, and a slate with nothing on it gets nothing.
That produces two to five NFL plays in a normal week rather than a full slate of them, and it is why the documented record is posted publicly rather than described in adjectives. If you want the reasoning rather than the plays, the expected value and unit sizing guides are the whole method in two pages.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are today's NFL picks free?
The board, the game-by-game previews and the analysis on this page are free and updated every morning. The graded card — the actual plays with write-ups and recommended unit sizing — goes to members, and last season's results are posted on the records page whether they were good or bad.
Where do the odds on this page come from?
They are the median spread and total across the US sportsbooks surveyed when the page was published, so no single book's shading distorts the number. Lines move all day; always confirm the current price at your own book before betting, and read line shopping for why the difference matters more than most bettors assume.
How many NFL plays should be on a card?
Fewer than most services publish. Seventeen games a season and one slate a week means genuine number edges are scarce, so two to five plays is a normal week and zero is a legitimate answer to a bad one. A service that finds ten plays every Sunday is selling volume, not edge.
Why does this page change every day?
Because the board does. A new edition publishes each morning with the day's games and numbers, and the previous day's edition is kept permanently in the pick archive so you can see what the market looked like before the games were played rather than after.
