NBA Picks Today: October 25, 2026
Consensus spreads and totals across US books, a read on every game, and the method behind the card — refreshed every morning.
Updated October 25, 2026 · Money Maverick Sports
Seven-game Sunday slate running from a near pick'em in Minnesota to a 14.5-point number in Oklahoma City. Totals cluster in the 221-236.5 range, with the shortest number attached to the night's largest spread. The more interesting prices tonight sit with the shorter favorites, where the gap between spread and moneyline says more about expected margin than the total does.
Numbers below are the median across 11 US sportsbooks surveyed when this edition published, not one book's opinion. Lines move all day — confirm the current price at your own book before betting, and read line shopping for why the half point you give away is the most expensive habit in betting.
Today's Card
The NBA is the most schedule-driven league in American sport. Most of the edge on a given night is in knowing which teams are being asked to do something unreasonable.
Today's graded plays have not been published on this page. Members receive the full card — every play, the write-up behind it and the recommended unit sizing — before the numbers move, and every result is posted publicly afterwards on the records page whether it won or lost.

Game-By-Game Previews
Each read below is drafted by our preview engine from the consensus numbers on this board and nothing else, then filtered before publication: it cannot cite an injury, a record or a statistic, because it is not given any, and language that promises a result is rejected outright. They are a starting point for your own handicapping, not a substitute for it. The plays we actually stake are on the card above.
Toronto Raptors at Minnesota Timberwolves
Card focus
NBA · Sun 7:10 PM ET · Timberwolves -1 · O/U 232.5 · ML Raptors -110 / Timberwolves -110
Minnesota is -1 with both sides priced at -110, meaning the market sees this as a true coin flip with home court as the only separator. Toronto covers with a loss of nothing worse than even money math implies — basically any Raptors win or a one-point loss gets the number. The 232.5 total is the more balanced number here since the spread offers no real lean either direction.
Detroit Pistons at Philadelphia 76ers
Card focus
NBA · Sun 7:40 PM ET · 76ers -2.5 · O/U 227.5 · ML Pistons +119 / 76ers -141
Philadelphia -2.5 sits just off the key number of 3, so this spread carries real half-point value for whichever side buys the hook. A 76ers win by exactly 3 covers the -2.5 and would have also covered a flat -3 line, meaning Detroit backers need either an outright win or a two-point-or-less loss. The 227.5 total is unremarkable by comparison, sitting in the middle of the night's range.
Memphis Grizzlies at Sacramento Kings
Card focus
NBA · Sun 9:00 PM ET · Grizzlies -4.5 · O/U 236.5 · ML Grizzlies -180 / Kings +150
Memphis -4.5 with a -180 moneyline prices in a fairly comfortable expected margin without crossing into blowout territory. Sacramento covers by losing by four or fewer, or winning outright, and the plus-150 price reflects that outright Kings wins are live without being the market's expectation. At 236.5, this carries the highest total on the slate, making the over/under arguably the sharper number to study here.
Los Angeles Lakers at Utah Jazz
NBA · Sun 5:10 PM ET · Lakers -6 · O/U 236.5 · ML Lakers -243 / Jazz +195
Los Angeles -6 at -243 on the moneyline tells you the market expects a win more than it expects a six-point margin specifically — the gap between spread price and moneyline price is typical for a number clear of 3 and 7. Utah covers with a loss of five or fewer. The 236.5 total matches the Grizzlies-Kings game as the slate's highest, worth more attention than the side given how settled the spread looks.
Indiana Pacers at Brooklyn Nets
NBA · Sun 6:10 PM ET · Pacers -7.5 · O/U 231.5 · ML Pacers -278 / Nets +225
Indiana -7.5 clears both key numbers, 3 and 7, so there's no half-point argument to make on the side itself — this number is about expected margin, not line shape. Brooklyn covers with any loss of seven or fewer or an outright win, and the plus-225 price says the market isn't discounting that scenario heavily. The 231.5 total sits mid-pack and doesn't stand out next to the spread.
Orlando Magic at New York Knicks
NBA · Sun 7:00 PM ET · Knicks -7.5 · O/U 224.5 · ML Magic +245 / Knicks -300
New York -7.5 again sits past the 7 key number, putting the emphasis on whether Orlando can stay within a touchdown rather than on any half-point quirk. The -300 moneyline prices the Knicks as heavy favorites straight up, independent of margin. At 224.5, this is the lowest total of the night by a modest margin, making the under/over line arguably worth more scrutiny than a spread this lopsided.
Los Angeles Clippers at Oklahoma City Thunder
NBA · Sun 7:10 PM ET · Thunder -14.5 · O/U 221 · ML Clippers +700 / Thunder -1100
Oklahoma City -14.5 is the largest spread on the slate, and at -1100 on the moneyline the market is pricing in a win with very little doubt — the number here is almost entirely about margin, not outcome. The Clippers at plus-700 need either an outright upset or a loss of 14 or fewer to be live. The total of 221 is the lowest tonight, a notable contrast against a double-digit spread.
How To Read Tonight's NBA Numbers
Basketball spreads are efficient and basketball totals are less so, and the reason is that a total is a statement about pace as much as about quality.
- Start with possessions. Two teams that play fast produce a high total even when neither is good. The pace and totals guide covers how to convert an expected possession count into a number.
- Read the schedule before the matchup. A back-to-back on the road at the end of a five-game trip is worth points, and the market prices it — but not always enough. See back-to-backs and rest and travel.
- Expect late movement. NBA injury news lands in the hour before tip-off and moves spreads several points. A number posted this morning is provisional in a way an NFL number is not.
- Blowout risk cuts both ways. A team up thirty rests its starters, which is why large spreads and high totals interact in ways a naive model misses.
Where NBA Value Usually Hides
| Market | Efficiency | Worth attacking? |
|---|---|---|
| Game spread | Very high | Only with a schedule or news edge |
| Game total | Medium to high | Yes, on pace mismatches |
| First-half lines | Medium | Yes, when rest is the thesis |
| Player props | Low to medium | Yes — the best volume market |
| Live lines | Medium | Yes, with a plan set before tip |
| Same-game parlays | Poor value | Rarely |
Each of those has its own page — spreads, totals and props — and the props page is where a nightly slate produces the most repeatable work.
What Makes Tonight's Card
The bar is the same every night: our number on the game has to differ from the market's by more than the vig. On an eleven-game slate that produces three or four plays, not eleven, and a slate where nothing qualifies gets nothing.
Basketball's schedule structure means a disproportionate share of those plays come from spots rather than from opinions about teams — which is a good thing, because a spot is checkable in advance and an opinion is not. The record is published either way.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are tonight's NBA picks free?
The board, the previews and the analysis on this page are free and refresh every morning. The graded card with write-ups and unit sizing goes to members, and results are posted publicly on the records page.
Why do NBA lines move so late?
Because injury information does. Rest designations and load-management calls are frequently announced in the hour before tip-off, and a starter's status can be worth several points of spread. It is the main reason a morning number and a tip-off number differ more in the NBA than in any other major league.
Are NBA totals easier to beat than spreads?
They are less efficiently priced, which is not the same as easy. A total is a pace estimate, and pace is more predictable than the outcome of a close game — so a bettor with a defensible possession estimate has something to work with. Start with pace and totals.
