NBA Picks Today: October 26, 2026
Consensus spreads and totals across US books, a read on every game, and the method behind the card — refreshed every morning.
Updated October 26, 2026 · Money Maverick Sports
Monday's nine-game NBA slate spans favorites from Utah's modest -1.5 to Boston's -14.5, with totals ranging from Oklahoma City's low mark of 218.5 to the Pacers-Bucks high of 239.5. One line sits just past the key number of 3 (Cleveland -3.5), and one has a road team favored outright (Indiana at Milwaukee). Several moneylines imply higher win probabilities than their matching spreads would suggest on their own, which is worth weighing before touching either side.
Numbers below are the median across 11 US sportsbooks surveyed when this edition published, not one book's opinion. Lines move all day — confirm the current price at your own book before betting, and read line shopping for why the half point you give away is the most expensive habit in betting.
Today's Card
The NBA is the most schedule-driven league in American sport. Most of the edge on a given night is in knowing which teams are being asked to do something unreasonable.
Today's graded plays have not been published on this page. Members receive the full card — every play, the write-up behind it and the recommended unit sizing — before the numbers move, and every result is posted publicly afterwards on the records page whether it won or lost.

Game-By-Game Previews
Each read below is drafted by our preview engine from the consensus numbers on this board and nothing else, then filtered before publication: it cannot cite an injury, a record or a statistic, because it is not given any, and language that promises a result is rejected outright. They are a starting point for your own handicapping, not a substitute for it. The plays we actually stake are on the card above.
Washington Wizards at Charlotte Hornets
Card focus
NBA · Mon 7:10 PM ET · Hornets -2 · O/U 228.5 · ML Wizards +105 / Hornets -127
Charlotte's -2 line makes this close to a true toss-up, but the moneyline (-127 Hornets, +105 Wizards) implies closer to 56% on Charlotte, a touch richer than the spread alone suggests. For Washington to cash the number they can lose by as much as 1; for Charlotte it's any win at all. At 228.5, the total sits mid-pack for this slate, with no obvious skew toward either side of the pace argument.
Minnesota Timberwolves at Cleveland Cavaliers
Card focus
NBA · Mon 7:10 PM ET · Cavaliers -3.5 · O/U 233 · ML Timberwolves +122 / Cavaliers -148
Cleveland's -3.5 sits just past the key number of 3, so Minnesota backers with a hook lose coverage on a three-point loss. That half point is the entire argument here: a Cavs win by exactly 3 pushes nowhere and goes to the favorite. The moneyline (-148/+122) prices Cleveland near 60%, in line with a mid-size home favorite. At 233 the total is unremarkable relative to the rest of the card.
Memphis Grizzlies at Utah Jazz
Card focus
NBA · Mon 9:10 PM ET · Jazz -1.5 · O/U 238 · ML Grizzlies +100 / Jazz -120
Utah -1.5 and near-even moneylines (-120/+100) make this the flattest number on the board, effectively a coin flip with the push stripped out since there's no landing spot at 1.5. Either side of the spread is live off a single-possession swing. The total at 238 is among the higher marks tonight, meaning the number is leaning on scoring volume more than on either team's standing to justify the price.
Chicago Bulls at Boston Celtics
NBA · Mon 7:30 PM ET · Celtics -14.5 · O/U 233.5 · ML Bulls +550 / Celtics -800
Boston's -14.5 and the -800/+550 moneyline put the implied win probability near 89%, well above what the spread alone would suggest for a double-digit line. The gap matters for bettors: Chicago covering requires keeping the final margin inside two converted possessions, not winning outright. At 233.5 the total is middle of the pack, which means the number here is really a statement about margin, not pace.
Dallas Mavericks at Miami Heat
NBA · Mon 7:30 PM ET · Heat -8.5 · O/U 236.5 · ML Mavericks +260 / Heat -330
Miami -8.5 with a -330 moneyline prices in roughly 77% win probability, a step above what an 8.5-point number typically implies on its own, suggesting the market sees more separation than the spread fully reflects. Dallas covering means keeping the game within a single empty possession. The 236.5 total ranks on the higher side of tonight's slate, putting more emphasis on pace than on either side of the spread itself.
Indiana Pacers at Milwaukee Bucks
NBA · Mon 8:10 PM ET · Pacers -4.5 · O/U 239.5 · ML Pacers -165 / Bucks +136
Indiana is favored on the road at -4.5, a notable split from the moneyline framing where they're -165 to Milwaukee's +136 at home. That gap between spread pricing and moneyline pricing is the thing to look at here. At 239.5 this carries the highest total on the board, so the number leans harder on combined scoring than on the margin itself, which sits in a fairly ordinary mid-single-digit range.
Phoenix Suns at Oklahoma City Thunder
NBA · Mon 8:10 PM ET · Thunder -8.5 · O/U 218.5 · ML Suns +290 / Thunder -367
Oklahoma City -8.5 comes with the lowest total of the night at 218.5, a combination that puts real weight on tempo rather than name value. The -367 moneyline implies close to 79% win probability, notably stronger than a straight read of 8.5 points would suggest. For Phoenix, the number asks them to keep the margin inside one empty possession; for the total, it asks both offenses to play below the pace the rest of the slate assumes.
Atlanta Hawks at Houston Rockets
NBA · Mon 8:30 PM ET · Rockets -5 · O/U 229.5 · ML Hawks +170 / Rockets -205
Houston -5 lands outside the standard football key numbers but still represents a one-possession margin in basketball terms, meaning closing possessions matter more than usual. The -205 moneyline implies roughly 67% for the Rockets, consistent with a mid-size home favorite. At 229.5, the total sits near the middle of tonight's board, giving no strong lean toward pace driving the number on either side.
Golden State Warriors at Denver Nuggets
NBA · Mon 10:00 PM ET · Nuggets -8 · O/U 233.5 · ML Warriors +245 / Nuggets -300
Denver -8 is a clean full-number line with no half point attached, so the push at exactly 8 is live, a detail worth noting given the -300 moneyline implying roughly 75% for the Nuggets. Golden State covering needs a final margin of seven or fewer. The 233.5 total runs on the higher end of the slate, again pointing toward pace as the more textured number here than the spread.
How To Read Tonight's NBA Numbers
Basketball spreads are efficient and basketball totals are less so, and the reason is that a total is a statement about pace as much as about quality.
- Start with possessions. Two teams that play fast produce a high total even when neither is good. The pace and totals guide covers how to convert an expected possession count into a number.
- Read the schedule before the matchup. A back-to-back on the road at the end of a five-game trip is worth points, and the market prices it — but not always enough. See back-to-backs and rest and travel.
- Expect late movement. NBA injury news lands in the hour before tip-off and moves spreads several points. A number posted this morning is provisional in a way an NFL number is not.
- Blowout risk cuts both ways. A team up thirty rests its starters, which is why large spreads and high totals interact in ways a naive model misses.
Where NBA Value Usually Hides
| Market | Efficiency | Worth attacking? |
|---|---|---|
| Game spread | Very high | Only with a schedule or news edge |
| Game total | Medium to high | Yes, on pace mismatches |
| First-half lines | Medium | Yes, when rest is the thesis |
| Player props | Low to medium | Yes — the best volume market |
| Live lines | Medium | Yes, with a plan set before tip |
| Same-game parlays | Poor value | Rarely |
Each of those has its own page — spreads, totals and props — and the props page is where a nightly slate produces the most repeatable work.
What Makes Tonight's Card
The bar is the same every night: our number on the game has to differ from the market's by more than the vig. On an eleven-game slate that produces three or four plays, not eleven, and a slate where nothing qualifies gets nothing.
Basketball's schedule structure means a disproportionate share of those plays come from spots rather than from opinions about teams — which is a good thing, because a spot is checkable in advance and an opinion is not. The record is published either way.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are tonight's NBA picks free?
The board, the previews and the analysis on this page are free and refresh every morning. The graded card with write-ups and unit sizing goes to members, and results are posted publicly on the records page.
Why do NBA lines move so late?
Because injury information does. Rest designations and load-management calls are frequently announced in the hour before tip-off, and a starter's status can be worth several points of spread. It is the main reason a morning number and a tip-off number differ more in the NBA than in any other major league.
Are NBA totals easier to beat than spreads?
They are less efficiently priced, which is not the same as easy. A total is a pace estimate, and pace is more predictable than the outcome of a close game — so a bettor with a defensible possession estimate has something to work with. Start with pace and totals.
