Updated November 7, 2026 · Money Maverick Sports

7 games on the NBA board for Saturday, November 7, 2026. The tightest number on the board is Knicks @ Cavaliers at -5 — a clear but containable edge for the favourite. Totals average 224.1 across the slate. Every number below is the median across US books at publication, not one sportsbook's opinion — treat it as the market and compare it to the price in front of you.

Numbers below are the median across 11 US sportsbooks surveyed when this edition published, not one book's opinion. Lines move all day — confirm the current price at your own book before betting, and read line shopping for why the half point you give away is the most expensive habit in betting.

Today's Card

The NBA is the most schedule-driven league in American sport. Most of the edge on a given night is in knowing which teams are being asked to do something unreasonable.

Where the card is

Today's graded plays have not been published on this page. Members receive the full card — every play, the write-up behind it and the recommended unit sizing — before the numbers move, and every result is posted publicly afterwards on the records page whether it won or lost.

The games today's card is built around: the closest numbers on the board, where a half point is worth the most.

Game-By-Game Previews

How these previews are written

Each read below is drafted by our preview engine from the consensus numbers on this board and nothing else, then filtered before publication: it cannot cite an injury, a record or a statistic, because it is not given any, and language that promises a result is rejected outright. They are a starting point for your own handicapping, not a substitute for it. The plays we actually stake are on the card above.

Brooklyn Nets at Atlanta Hawks

Card focus

NBA · Sat 7:40 PM ET · Hawks -6.5 · O/U 227 · ML Nets +210 / Hawks -258

The number on Hawks is -6.5, which prices a clear advantage rather than a mismatch, and leaves the underdog live in the fourth quarter. The market has priced 227 points into this one, which is the number to start from if the side is too close to call. Moneyline consensus is Nets +210 / Hawks -258. Prices move up to 7:40 PM ET, so treat the number here as where the market was and not necessarily where you can get on.

New York Knicks at Cleveland Cavaliers

Card focus

NBA · Sat 8:10 PM ET · Knicks -5 · O/U 223.5 · ML Knicks -200 / Cavaliers +170

At -5, Knicks is favoured by more than a field goal and less than a comfortable margin, which is the range where the total and the side inform each other most. Totals are where a close game gets interesting, and this one is posted at 223.5. Moneyline consensus is Knicks -200 / Cavaliers +170. None of that is a recommendation — it is what the price implies. Check the current number before 8:10 PM ET and decide from there.

San Antonio Spurs at Portland Trail Blazers

Card focus

NBA · Sat 10:00 PM ET · Spurs -6 · O/U 227 · ML Spurs -204 / Blazers +170

Spurs -6 is a real but containable edge — the market expects them to win without expecting the game to stop being a game. Totals are where a close game gets interesting, and this one is posted at 227. Moneyline consensus is Spurs -204 / Blazers +170. The board above is the median across US books at publication. Check it against your book before 10:00 PM ET rather than assuming they match.

Denver Nuggets at Indiana Pacers

NBA · Sat 5:10 PM ET · Nuggets -7.5 · O/U 228.5 · ML Nuggets -285 / Pacers +234

At -7.5, Nuggets is being priced to win by two scores, and a number that size shifts the interesting question from who wins to whether Pacers keeps it respectable. With the side this clear, 228.5 is the number worth arguing about — it is the market's estimate of the shape of the game rather than its winner. Moneyline consensus is Nuggets -285 / Pacers +234. The board above is the median across US books at publication. Check it against your book before 5:10 PM ET rather than assuming they match.

Washington Wizards at Oklahoma City Thunder

NBA · Sat 8:10 PM ET · Thunder -11.5 · O/U 219.5 · ML Wizards +360 / Thunder -480

At -11.5, Thunder is being priced to win by two scores, and a number that size shifts the interesting question from who wins to whether Wizards keeps it respectable. With the side this clear, 219.5 is the number worth arguing about — it is the market's estimate of the shape of the game rather than its winner. Moneyline consensus is Wizards +360 / Thunder -480. Whether that reads cheap or expensive is your call to make against your own book before 8:10 PM ET.

Orlando Magic at Golden State Warriors

NBA · Sat 8:40 PM ET · Warriors -6.5 · O/U 221.5 · ML Magic +207 / Warriors -250

The number on Warriors is -6.5, which prices a clear advantage rather than a mismatch, and leaves the underdog live in the fourth quarter. 221.5 is the posted total. Comparing it against what you think the game looks like is usually a cleaner decision than picking a side this close. Moneyline consensus is Magic +207 / Warriors -250. Compare this against your own book before 8:40 PM ET — the price you actually get is the only one that pays.

Houston Rockets at Phoenix Suns

NBA · Sat 9:10 PM ET · Rockets -7.5 · O/U 221.5 · ML Rockets -308 / Suns +249

The books have Rockets at -7.5, which is a two-score price and therefore a bet on margin rather than on outcome. The total is 221.5, and on a game priced this lopsided it is the number carrying most of the information: it tells you whether the market expects the favourite to bury this or grind it out. Moneyline consensus is Rockets -308 / Suns +249. Whatever you make of it, shop the number before 9:10 PM ET; a half point here is worth more than most opinions about the game.

How To Read Tonight's NBA Numbers

Basketball spreads are efficient and basketball totals are less so, and the reason is that a total is a statement about pace as much as about quality.

  • Start with possessions. Two teams that play fast produce a high total even when neither is good. The pace and totals guide covers how to convert an expected possession count into a number.
  • Read the schedule before the matchup. A back-to-back on the road at the end of a five-game trip is worth points, and the market prices it — but not always enough. See back-to-backs and rest and travel.
  • Expect late movement. NBA injury news lands in the hour before tip-off and moves spreads several points. A number posted this morning is provisional in a way an NFL number is not.
  • Blowout risk cuts both ways. A team up thirty rests its starters, which is why large spreads and high totals interact in ways a naive model misses.

What Makes Tonight's Card

The bar is the same every night: our number on the game has to differ from the market's by more than the vig. On an eleven-game slate that produces three or four plays, not eleven, and a slate where nothing qualifies gets nothing.

Basketball's schedule structure means a disproportionate share of those plays come from spots rather than from opinions about teams — which is a good thing, because a spot is checkable in advance and an opinion is not. The record is published either way.

Money Maverick Sports publishes analysis and opinion, not predictions of certainty. No play on this page or behind the membership wall is guaranteed. Bet only what you can afford to lose, and if betting has stopped being a choice, call 1-800-GAMBLER.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are tonight's NBA picks free?

The board, the previews and the analysis on this page are free and refresh every morning. The graded card with write-ups and unit sizing goes to members, and results are posted publicly on the records page.

Why do NBA lines move so late?

Because injury information does. Rest designations and load-management calls are frequently announced in the hour before tip-off, and a starter's status can be worth several points of spread. It is the main reason a morning number and a tip-off number differ more in the NBA than in any other major league.

Are NBA totals easier to beat than spreads?

They are less efficiently priced, which is not the same as easy. A total is a pace estimate, and pace is more predictable than the outcome of a close game — so a bettor with a defensible possession estimate has something to work with. Start with pace and totals.

What happens to this page tomorrow?

A new edition publishes with tomorrow's slate, and today's is kept permanently in the pick archive with the numbers exactly as they were posted this morning.
